Why It’s Crunch Time for SAT Prep — And How to Maximize Your Outcomes
Dear Parents & Students,
As summer approaches and application deadlines inch closer, students all across the country are entering what we call SAT Crunch Time — a critical window where preparation must be strategic, consistent, and laser-focused. We had very good outcomes from the recent exams, and for students who are looking to maximize their scores in the coming months, it is time to lock in!
Here’s what makes this period so important — and how you can use it to your advantage.
Why Now Is Crunch Time
1. Fewer Test Dates Left:
With major SAT test dates like June, August, September and October rapidly approaching, time is of the essence. These are the LAST exams that can be used for Early Action or Early decision. Given that these admission windows offer higher admit changes, this may be your final chance to lock in a strong score.
2. College Admissions Are Getting Competitive:
As test-optional policies begin to tighten, high SAT scores are once again becoming key differentiators — especially for merit-based scholarships and competitive programs. Don’t let a weak score be the reason you get waitlisted or rejected.
Colleges now cost up to $80,000-$90,000 a year after room & board is factored in. Make a Strong SAT score allow you the best possible scholarships to reduce student debt burden.
3. Your Brain is in Peak Performance while you’re still in school:
Our collected data show students retain more during structured study periods when they’re still academically focused during the spring time. That’s why this sprint matters. It’s the final push where disciplined effort can lead to 100–200+ point jumps.
Losing momentum into the summer isn’t ideal.
How to Maximize Your Score During This Period
1. Zero in on Your Weakest Section
Whether it’s Reading & Writing or Math, identify the section where you’re leaving the most points on the table. At Tigerway, our private coaches help students pinpoint exactly where to focus.
2. Master the Digital SAT Format
The new SAT is adaptive, shorter, and more strategy-driven. Don’t waste time studying for the old paper test. We train students using real questions and simulated digital practice so they feel confident with the format and time constraints.
Our Digital Library has incredible ample resources for practice and preparation.
3. Simulate Real Testing Conditions
Take full-length digital practice exams in one sitting. Mimic the testing environment — no music, no interruptions, just a clock and a challenge. This trains your endurance and sharpens your pacing.
4. Use the 80/20 Rule
Spend 80% of your time on high-yield content (grammar rules, algebra foundations, data analysis), and 20% on nuanced test tricks. Focus on what moves the needle.
5. Get Private Coaching and Accountability
Having a coach doesn’t just give you better strategies — it keeps you consistent. Tigerway students meet with passionate top-scoring private coaches weekly who map out exact goals, review their practice, and ensure they stay on track.
Our System
We specialize in turning the 1100-1250 SAT Score range into the 1400-1500 range because we’ve built a prep system that’s data-driven, adaptive, and designed for the digital SAT era.
